Post Shredded Wheat Original Cereal, No Sugar or Salt Added, 15-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 4)

Even though Post Cereals bought out the NABISCO brand name years ago, this cereal is just the way you remember it. There's a toasty tasty quality to it as you crunch through those marvelously long strands of wheat that is totally missing in the little spoon size stuff that you still might find on SOME grocery shelves, but even that number of shelves is dwindling. These Big Biscuits come three to a pack inside your big box of six packs. They stay much fresher than the little spoon size version too, but the taste is the big thing. Unfortunately they have been missing from local grocery store shelves for about three years now. Those in the grocery chain headquarters are moving adult cereals off the shelves in favor of more sugar coated stuff, but lest you think that the good stuff is not being produced any longer, I BRING YOU TIDINGS OF GREAT JOY.I called customer relations at Post's headquarters and spoke to a sincere, attendant lady who checked twice to be sure she was right, and her pronouncement to me was that EVERY SINGLE DISTRIBUTION CENTER in the Post Cereal network had ample quantities to ship Big Biscuit Shredded Wheat to ANY grocery chain in the USA. It's just that so few of them want to bother with this as more and more new and different boxes of sugar coated stuff demands all the space.There is a nationally known discount Super Store chain—you know the one, it begins with a W—that will ship a supply of this to a local store, then you can go pick it up when they notify you that it has arrived. The trouble is that they want you to spend a minimum total amount that is much higher than what you can buy it for here. If you do not want to spend that minimum then you can buy just this cereal for its advertised price PLUS a $35.99 SHIPPING CHARGE.I choose to do my business with Amazon and its Marketplace partners who often provide their products at prices equal to local stores, and with NO shipping charges in many cases.

This is the great cereal I loved as a child. The last time I purchased it, the cost was about $18.00, and now they're asking $27? I know prices go up but by over 30% in two months? Much as I wanted to re-order, I won't be until they make the price reasonable again. I'm on a fixed income and I love this stuff.. but not at over $7.50 a box. Okay, they've jumped it up now to $32.00 That, once taxes are added comes to over $8.50 a box. This is an unbelievably high price for shredded wheat. I LOVE this cereal but can see I'll just have to do without, because with that same $8.50 I can buy 3 boxes of raisin-oat bran, which I like, not as much as the shredded wheat... but 3 boxes for the price of one..... definitely.

so some people may complain about the cost; as they are cheaper if you can find them in the grocery sore; but for some reason I noticed this has been quite difficult; so my opinion is you pay for what you want. I feel that when it comes to my health; food that is full of fiber; and good nutrients; I don't mind paying a little extra. I love the big biscuit shredded wheat; I like crunchy things so for me I eat with 1 serving of vanilla almond milk; 1 small box of raisins; and 1 serving of slivered almonds; what a very healthy and tasty treat. I highly recommend this product. and will buy again. Post please don't discontinue the product!!!

I get so tired of this Amazon vendor malarkey - I bought this 4-pack a month ago, sold by Amazon, through Subscribe & Save for $9.54 shipped. I came online to check my subscriptions and it says it's out of stock. Instead, the listing is being sold by "outstandingbooks" for $29.93!! I mean, really? Come on! I certainly hope whatever profit they manage to make off of suckers who don't know better helps them sleep at night, because that's just ridonkulous.The product itself? It's great. It's a classic, it's yummy, it's healthy, I love it. I'll be holding off on ordering it online until Amazon gets more in stock, though. Outstandingbooks should be ashamed of themselves. I checked their storefront and they've hiked prices across the board on all sorts of stuff. Shameful.

Update: Took a chance and reordered and use by dates were very good! Thank you Amazon for making appropriate changes. Now 4-stars.Initial review: Received product over two weeks past the best used by date. I generally order four boxes at a time to get the best pricing. Very disappointed. Not sure if it was Amazon product rotation issue (1st in 1st out) or the seller sending past dated products. Gave it 1-star.

One ingredient. Wheat. Can't get any healthier than that. It's getting to be difficult to find these classic big biscuit shredded wheat. I think the price is outrageous though ($7.38 per box before tax!), so I probably won't be buying them again...but it was nice to treat myself to some of my favorite cereal just once. If they lower the price to what any other cereal box would cost, I'd be happy to buy these on a regular basis.

You probably already know what Shredded Wheat cereal is (if not, try it!). This is a money-saving, easy way to buy it. Unlike certain other cereals, Shredded Wheat is well suited for shipping. Almost all biscuits were in good shape, as you expect when buying at the store, when they have arrived. The few that suffered (usually just partially broken) did not affect my breakfast experience at all since I just break the biscuits up with my spoon anyway.Cheaper than the store and arrive in good condition. Recommended.
