Getting a bundle of 5 boxes of matches makes for a great bulk purchase.Not only are these from a recognised and respected brand (they've been in the match trade since 1850) but they are a good quality. The strike face on the box is a honeycomb friction surface that works well with the chemical coating on the match head.I am pleased to report that despite being a really good length they are made from a strong enough wood so that it does not snap when struck. They burn well and maintain their integrity even when blown out.Perfect for lighting candles, tobacco pipes (the main reason I purchased these is my husband got some for lighting the occasional pipe he smokes and I was suitably impressed) and even my gas hob now the ignition has failed. The length of the match means that even when lighting a tealight candle inside my wax warmer I am not in danger of singing my fingers.

This is the first time I have come across long matches and what a great idea they are as they make it so easy to light candles that are low down in jars without the rush of the flame coming up the stick to burn you!They feel thick as well so when you strike the box it doesn’t feel like they are going to snap. The strike pad works a dream to lighting on the first swipe.

Love these matches, they're easy to use, resistant, long, and it's such a big amount I'm sure I'm not going to have to get more for years

I got these as I have a number of candles that I light around the house (mainly tealights, but in multi-light holders) and I have a large firepit which I use in summer. These matches are ideal for all those scenarios and for a tilly lamp I have so I don't now need to take the cover off.The matches are by Bryant and May and are approx 4 inches long. Really easy to light and you get approx 50 matches per box.I find them more robust and easier lighting than the normal cooks matches I use and they last a little longer too,At around £5 for 250 matches, they should last me for years.
