AIRWIRL 3.0 Mobile Cool Down System - Personal Cooling - Portable Aircon - AC

I don't like being warm. Whether I'm visiting someone's house or enjoying an outdoor activity, I've been known to bring a portable fan with me. This personal cooling system is a real life saver. Fill it up with ice, put in some batteries (or plug it into USB) and you have a very gentle cool breeze. I wish it could blow a big stronger, but I imagine it would require more frequent ice fills if it was stronger. As is, I find myself filling it up about once an hour or so. On the hottest of days, this will still not be enough, but if you're like me, every little bit helps.

Read the other reviews for "how well it works" This review is to alert people to a serious design flaw.I received my Airwirl today and after testing it out a few times, I noticed a very critical design flaw in it's construction which is making me return it without further use.CRITICAL DESIGN FLAW: The ONLY thing holding the intake straws to the lid is the styrofoam used for both insulation AND properly directing air flow into the intake straws. DO NOT force the twisting of the lid into the cup if there is ice blocking the intake "straws" from spinning around inside the cup wall! If the lid is force-twisted down into the cup it will compress & eventually SHRED the styrofoam.Even if it's done carefully, making sure not to overfill the cup with ice, the mere wear-and-tear of compressing the styrofoam via pushing the straws through the ice will decay the styrofoam's effectiveness. I don't see this product keeping it's effectiveness anymore than 2 Summers of regular use because of this issue. If they figure out how to mount the intake straws to the lid by a more secure method (i.e. screws) this product will have a much longer lifespan.

This product works well BUT it does not give out much cold air. I took my daughter to Disney World last September and I filled them with a about a half cup of cold water and put ice all the way up to right below the styra foam inside. It worked great for my daughter but I had to have 2 of them blowing on her face to cool her down. It only gives a very small shot of cold air blowing on you but the concept is wonderful. I would buy again but the hole for air output needs to be bigger with a stronger motor. Great product, much better when using 2 though.

If you are looking for something to cool you off while at the beach or watching a child's sporting event keep looking. While this product does put out cool air and has a hose attachment which allows for pinpoint cooling, it will not relieve you from the outdoor heat. I was able to find some relief by using the hose to cool the back of my neck at our fair and move it around to other points on my face and neck area, but the reality is it was more work than I wanted. I honestly found more relief from the heat using one of those 8 d-cell battery operated fans.

I thought this was going to be crap. It is not. It actually worked to my surprise. I used it for my elderly dogs and me. It didn’t make us cold but it really allowed us to be out in the heat longer. The ice does melt but it took several hours for it to be An issue then you just dump it out. There’s not contamination so I gave the cold water to my dogs

I've had the airwhirl for a few hours now, and honestly its disappointing. I dont like writing bad reviews. The product isnt bad, it's just underpowered. Its highest setting feels like someone is gently blowing thier ice filled mouths towards you. Shifting to low speed, the fan gets quiet but the output is almost the same. Maybe it's my power source, an old USB power brick I bought for my Galaxy S6 way back when. But fully charged it's kinda disappointing. I live in Hawaii where it's hot and humid, and bought this for a trip to Florida in September... where it's hot and humid. I hope this will make it.

Just spent the weekend testing out my Airwirl! I live in the Pacific Northwest where our summer days are hot (90’s) and our mornings and evenings can be pretty chilly (50’s) and it saved the day more than once. It was perfect keeping me cool, and when my dog got hot, I just placed it right in front of him and he seemed to love the blast of cool air. There is also nothing worse than waking up in the chilly mountain air and having to get out of the tent freezing, so I turned on my Airwirl with the hand warmers inside, stuck the tube in my sleeping bag and it was perfectly toasty for the morning. All in all it was a great purchase and I know I’ll be getting a lot of use out of it.

I got this because my nephew gets hot all the time it works OK the ice melts really fast. But it does work
